I recently had the opportunity to photograph the stunning Laura at Hallam Mill Studio in Stockport. Hallam Mill’s strength is its fabulous natural light possibilities which we put to good use in the first part of the shoot, posing Laura on top of an old piano just by the window where the setting sun was beating straight through.

The camera was screaming that it was too overexposed for the photo above, but I ignored this, knowing that it would create a dramatic high key image.

Further shots were taken using only natural light, but once the light faded, out came the studio lights for the rest of the shoot.
