I was recently asked by one of my previous brides to do a portrait shoot as a christening present for one of her bridesmaids (must have been a happy customer!). Despite being told to pack light, I decided to be prepared, and took a small amount of lighting equipment ‘just in case’ – which came in handy when we spotted this delightful little wood pile!

Last weekend I was in attendance at a local event where I was taking ‘white background’ portrait photography. The space I had to work with wasn’t large, but equipped with my white colorama background, a few studio lights and my camera and lens I was able to take some good photographs. Just goes to show that you don’t need the largest of spaces!

This weekend I took part in a lighting workshop run in London. This session was run by Zack Arias who is a very well known American photographer (and very, very talented too).
As part of this workshop, we got the opportunity to take some model photographs. This is one of mine. The model is Abi Amos, the lighting was a Nikon Speedlight, fired through a honeycomb grid. The background was a standard shipping container!
If you want a portrait session, and would like photographs like this, then get in touch and make a booking!

I was asked to be the photographer for Sarina at her 16th Birthday party.
I took along my Lencarta Safari kit, along with Lencarta backgrounds and stands and set up a mini studio in the corner of one room.
Using a single key light, I angled a Lencarta Safari studio head from the right onto the subject, then used a Lencarta Ringlight from the back to lighten the background and add a little light from behind.
I think the birthday girl looked stunning!
