The wedding of Emma and John at Selsdon Park Hotel, 19th May 2012
After an elongated winter break from wedding photography, I was really looking forward to shooting the wedding of Emma and John at St Leonard’s Church in Chelsham and Selsdon Park Hotel near Croydon last month. Emma and John had got in touch via a referral as Emma’s sister had been a guest at Lisa and John’s wedding that I shot last year at Gate Street Barn in Guildford, which was later featured in Perfect Wedding magazine. As a Leicester Wedding Photographer I also get enquiries for Wedding Photography across the UK, and this occasion was no different, which provided me with the opportunity to do some South London Wedding Photography.

It’s a proud day for me today as a Leicester Wedding Photographer, as I’ve just received issue 64 of ‘Perfect Wedding Magazine’ through my door. Why does this make me proud? Well, I’m pleased to announce that the wedding of Lisa and John Box I photographed back in July at Gate Street Barn in Guildford has been featured as one of the magazine’s ‘Real Weddings’ this month, and my photographs have been published in the magazine!

On October 1st, 2011 I travelled up to Sunderland to be the wedding photographer for Steve and Nikki. I’ve known Steve for a few years now – he’s a photographer friend of mine and we’ve had a few camping excursions and photography workshops together – so I was honoured to be the official photographer at his wedding.

This is a wedding that I had been looking forward to for a while – the wedding of Lisa Cox and John Box, in Guildford on the 24th of July 2011. From the moment Lisa had got in touch and from the time I first saw the locations that a) Lisa was getting ready in and b) they were getting married at I couldn’t wait for this day to come!
This day also marked the first occasion I’d be working with my own personal assistant – my good friend Will Graham from willgrahamphotography.co.uk - who had kindly volunteered to come along, carry my kit, and get a few shots of his own throughout the day.

Today I was sitting at home thinking about the people who I have been privileged to photograph on the most important day of their lives, and thought it would be nice to do a little run down of some of the weddings I was photographer at in 2010. So, for the next few days I’ll be posting some of the weddings you may have seen before, but photographs you may not have seen. I was delighted to be the photographer at Clare’s wedding. I’ve known her for a couple of years now, and shot a few photos for her in the past (mainly of animals – not people!) so I was delighted when she asked me to be the photographer at her wedding.
The ceremony was at the Guild hall in Leicester, then it was back to her house for the reception. A fantastic location and a fantastic day. Congratulations Clare and Richard!

It’s great being at the evening reception. A nice, large dance floor. A couple who are happy for you to just have fun with your photography… fantastic!

Where allowed by the vicars, I always like to take up a shooting position which allows me to capture the expressions of the happy couple!
Fortunately, at Wendy and Rob’s wedding, the vicar was easy going, and allowed me to be quite close to the action!

What’s one of the best things about photographing a wedding? It’s got to be the bit where you get the guys doing the ‘Reservoir Dogs’ walk. Yeah, so what if it’s cliche’d – the guys love it, and it makes for a great picture
