About Nick Tsiatinis – Landscape Photographer<\/h1>\n

T<\/span>hanks for visiting my website. I’m Nick Tsiatinis, and I’m a landscape photographer and natural world photographer currently based in Leicestershire. That’s me in the photograph above (taken by my good friend Mark Huddlestone<\/a>), on location at Kimmeridge in Dorset on one of my frequent photography excursions.<\/p>\n

My passion is landscape and nature photography. To me, there’s not much that beats the pleasure of heading off in my (t)rusty VW Camper Van and heading to new location for a few days worth of camping, exploring the area and attempting to photograph the essence of my trip. The weather’s not always on my side, but you make the best of what you’ve been given! Whilst I’m based in Leicestershire and have photographed around the local area, I really enjoy seascapes and water shots – which is a problem when you live in the part of England that’s furthest from any coast! Because of this I travel around a lot to indulge in my landscape photography. I frequently visit Keswick in the Lake District, I’ve been to Dorset numerous times, have been to the tip of England at Land’s End and have even travelled as far north as Iceland – but that was a complete washout, so we won’t talk about that!<\/p>\n

Basically, I love landscape photography, and I also like to dabble in nature photography as well.<\/p>\n

Equipment wise, I’m a Canon guy, using high end equipment – wide angle lenses, mid telephoto and long zooms as and when necessary to get the photographs I want. I’m a big advocate of getting the pictures right in the camera, so I don’t do outlandish Photoshop effects and trickery to create photographs that were never there.<\/p>\n

I’ve been published on a number of occasions, from a 6 page spread in Digital SLR Photography (you can find the writeup on my blog<\/a>), to a top 25 finish in the Amateur Photographer ‘Photographer of the Year’ competition in their 2010 ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ round, as well as being shortlisted a number of times in the Practical Photography ‘Photographer of the Year’ competitions, having my website reviewed, written a large ‘Viewpoints’ feature and had a smaller ‘Viewpoints at a glance’ feature\u00a0in Outdoor Photography magazine and being featured in a national wedding magazine for my wedding photography. Additionally, in 2012 I was awarded the LSINWP (Licenciate of the Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers) qualification after a panel of my photographs were judged by a panel to meet the high standards required for the qualification (although since leaving ‘The Societies’ in 2013 I am no longer entitled to use the letters).<\/p>\n
